Abstract
The growing demand for renewable energy systems drives the demand for efficient, low-carbon infrastructure. At the same time, the need for trustworthy backup power solutions during grid outages remains crucial. This paper presents a dual supervisory control system with a Vehicle to Home (V2H) backup power system. The aim is to meet the increasing demand for clean energy while providing power during grid disruptions. The proposed system optimizes the use of energy for electric vehicle (EV) charging and supports home electricity needs in reliable mode, reducing both impact and operational costs. In economy mode, the system quickly switches to utilize the EV battery as a power source, ensuring a power supply for essential household applications during extended grid outages. The proposed system showcases the implementation of this dual-mode control system in a solar-powered EV-integrated residential building, demonstrating its practicality and relevance in real-world scenarios. Moreover, it highlights how the V2H capability of this system can enhance energy resilience at both community levels, making it an important contribution towards addressing challenges related to energy access and reliability.
