摘要
Mucormycosis is an invasive opportunistic fungal infection with high mortality, it occurs mainly in people with COVID-19 infection, especially in people with underlying diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Mucormycosis occurs in 0.005 to 1.7 cases per 1,000,000 inhabitants and its prevalence has been increasing in countries such as India and Pakistan, Mycosis can affect different organs; clinical manifestations reflect the transmission mechanism. Among the frequent forms are the rhino-orbito-cerebral and pulmonary involvement. That's why mucormycosis should be suspected in patients with necrotic injuries in mucous membranes or skin. We present a case about a patient with a history of diabetes mellitus who was diagnosed with oral mucormycosis associated with COVID-19.
