摘要
We present a broadband X-ray spectral analysis (0.5-195 keV) of the active galactic nucleus (AGN) in NGC 4102, which has been proposed as a candidate for Changing-look (CL) AGN in X-rays. In general, the column density of the AGN measured using different X-ray data have been consistent throughout the years, except in one case measured by XMM-Newton data in 2009, which was found to be significantly different than the others. Recently, NuSTAR observed NGC 4102 for the second time, allowing us to study the current state of the AGN and further investigate its CL behaviour. We found that there are no significant differences between this new NuSTAR data and the previous NuSTAR data, and archival Chandra and Swift-BAT data. We therefore performed spectral modelling simultaneously on all data using physically motivated torus models. Based on our analysis, we measured a line-of-sight torus column density of N-H,N-l.o.s = 7.66(-0.51)(+0.56) x10(23) cm(-2). This is consistent with most past observations of the source, except for one observation taken in 2009 by XMM-Newton. However, since the difference is marginal and the change only occurs in one observation, we therefore could not robustly conclude the changing-look nature of the AGN. The observed and intrinsic 2-10 keV luminosity of the AGN based on our analysis are 1.71(-0.45)(+0.40) x10(40) erg s(-1) and 1.83(-0.48)(+0.43) x10(41) erg s(-1). The intrinsic luminosity corresponds to a bolometric luminosity of L-bol = 3.66(-0.96)(+0.86) x10(42) erg s(-1), and we determined that the Eddington ratio of the AGN lambda(Edd) = 3.33 x10(-4.) This indicates the AGN is not a genuine LLAGN as it was observed, but a standard AGN that appears faint due to heavy obscuration.
