摘要
Sodium-ion batteries (NIBs) are gaining recognition as appealing alternatives to the next generation of batteries. Despite some significant breakthroughs, the development of suitable anode materials with both a high energy density and long lifespan remains a considerable challenge. This paper presents a nitrogen-doped carbon (NDC)_MoS2 composite as an anode material for sodium-ion batteries. It exhibits outstanding rate performance and durability, along with a remarkable capacity of 1875 mAh g(-1) at a current density of 0.01 A g(-1). Furthermore, when paired with sodium vanadium phosphate (NVP) as the cathode material, the full cell based on NDC_MoS2 surpasses most reported studies. It achieves a high specific capacity of 236 mAh g(-1) at a current density of 0.1 A g(-1). Therefore, this work provides a promising strategy of composition optimization for designing next-generation anode materials and subsequently exploring high-quality storage applications. Density functional theory calculations corroborate the inferences from experimental studies.
