On the MEC Service Reliability of Two-Tier HetNets: A Stochastic Perspective.

This paper investigates the service reliability in large-scale multi-access edge computing (MEC)-enabled heterogeneous networks (HetNet). To jointly consider the critical latency and reliability requirements, we introduce a novel metric termed the successful service probability meta distribution, which quantifies the proportion of users satisfying latency requirements with the reliability above a target threshold. We derive the theoretical expression for the proposed meta distribution using the beta distribution approximation, which provides an excellent match compared with simulated results. For the considered MEC-enabled HetNet, it shows that there exists an optimal biased factor to maximize the proportion of users satisfying the latency requirements above the target reliability threshold.
