Abstract
In recent years, the amount of renewable energy entering the electrical grid has considerably increased. One of the biggest challenges in this transformation is replacing synchronous generators (SGs) and their well-known dynamics and controllers with power electronics-interfaced generation. Using the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control technique, the inverter is managed similarly to a synchronous generator. By fostering system stability, the VSG can fulfill the same function as the SG in a conventional grid in micro-grids. The VSG can also be more flexible when establishing properties like virtual inertia. In this paper, a novel interval type-2 fuzzy controller was designed to control the active power regulation of the VSG. Simulating verifies that the intended controller is effective in achieving the required tracking.
