Abstract
In modern products from advanced manufacturing processes, annular cylinders of different materials and configurations are widely utilized for essential functions such as loading resistance, material delivery, shielding, housing, and power transmissions under various service conditions. To ensure the proper design and manufacturing of such cylindrical components, material properties, processing techniques, and parameters must be known for evaluation and quality assurance. In this study, a three-dimensional mathematical modeling of the braided cylinders with different material layers is made in the cylindrical coordinates, and the Rayleigh-Ritz method is employed to establish the eigenvalue equation for vibration frequencies with the consideration of the primary boundary conditions. By combining the Resonant Ultrasound Spectroscopy (RUSpec) technique with the calculated resonant frequencies of the sample in good agreement, the material properties are extracted with the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm.
