Abstract
NO 2 is a very common gas that can trigger the exacerbation of the respiratory system and provoke asthma even at low concentration. Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDC) material Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS 2 ) has been proved to be very sensitive to NO 2 when it is fabricated as nanosheet of multiple or few atomic layers. In this work, we fabricated the Mos 2 nanosheet on a silicon wafer and used this device as a resistive gas sensor to detect the NO 2 gas at low concentration (0.2 -1.0 ppm). In addition, this gas sensor was integrated with external electronics to create a gas monitoring system. The sensing data was uploaded to a cloud-based terminal so that people can access the data easily and get alerted. Our results suggest that the Mos 2 nanosheet based NO 2 gas monitoring system is very sensitive, reliable, cost-effective, working at room temperature, and easy to use.
