•Piezoelectric T-BaTiO3/Ag3PO4 composites were prepared by co-precipitation method.•The built-in electric field in T-BaTiO3/Ag3PO4 can change its energy band structure.•The construction of T-BaTiO3/Ag3PO4 can prolong the lifetime of electron-hole pairs.
