Coupled response of sandwich beams on the nonlinear foundation under Galerkin truncation convergence criterion

Coupled vibration response of the beam on nonlinear foundations is of great theoretical significance in the field of engineering. Due to its complex structure, it is difficult to calculate and analyze. The Galerkin truncation method is the most commonly used method to study these systems. However, the nonlinear foundation coupled system needs more truncation terms. There is no clear basis for selecting the number of truncation terms. In this paper, two schemes based on the linear natural frequency of the system will be used to determine the convergence term, taking the pavement system as the research background. Coupled vibration response of sandwich beams with nonlinear elastic foundation is analyzed by the Galerkin truncation method. The nonlinear elastic foundation sandwich beam model is used to simulate the pavement structure. The moving spring vibrator is used to simulate the vehicle model. According to the Galerkin truncation convergence term, the convergence of coupled vibration response of the system is observed. The accuracy and efficiency of schemes in selecting the truncation term of the coupled nonlinear system are confirmed. In addition, the effects of coupling parameters are also discussed. The study shows that the scheme of truncation term convergence has high accuracy in judging the convergence of the response of nonlinear coupling model, which greatly improves the calculation efficiency.
