Abstract
Power system reliability evaluation is one of the basic techniques for power system planning. However, it is seldom applied to the system operation because of the time-consuming process of reliability evaluation. In this paper, a reliability constraint unit commitment (UC) model is proposed based on load feasible region approach. Firstly, the LFR approach is used to evaluate the reliability of possible UC decisions. Then, the reliability results of the UC decisions are added to the traditional UC model as reliability constraints. The validity and limitation of the model are verified by applying the proposed model to IEEE 30 system and IEEE RTS79 system.
