摘要
The practice of natural fibers as reinforcement in structural concrete has gained significant interest in recent years due to their sustainability and abundant availability. This research article presents an experimental investigation focused on studying the flexural strength of Indian rattan cane (IRC) reinforced concrete. The aim of this research attention is to evaluate the structural performance and feasibility of utilizing IRC as a reinforcing agent in concrete structures. The rattan canes were carefully sourced and processed to enhance their mechanical properties. The beam samples were put in the threshold of three-point bending tests to evaluate their flexural behaviour. The experimental results revealed that the inclusion of Indian rattan cane reinforcement significantly influenced the concrete beam’s flexural strength. The incorporation of rattan canes contributed to improved load-carrying capacity thereby enhancing their structural performance and provides valuable insights for design considerations. The findings support the feasibility and potential advantages of utilizing IRC as a sustainable reinforcement in concrete structures, thereby promoting the utilization of natural fibers in the construction industry.
