摘要
•Hollow spherical Ni/VN synthesized via hydrothermal methods.•MgH2 system doped with Ni/VN exhibited an outstanding hydrogen storage capability.•MgH2 doped Ni/VN released 6.4 wt.% H2 within 180 s at 325 °C.•VN remained unchanged during the dehydrogenation/hydrogenation of MgH2.
