Effects of electroacupuncture on refractory interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome: A one-year follow-up case report

•While the existing evidence is somewhat restricted, acupuncture is being explored as a potential and effective treatment option for interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS).•The study reported the treatment process and efficacy of electroacupuncture, and carried out 1 year follow-up.•Electroacupuncture has proven to be an effective management method for IC/BPS, as evidenced by the patient’s alleviated lower urinary system symptoms and reduced pelvic pain.•This study is a case report for refractory IC/BPS.
