Abstract
In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) dual- polarized tightly coupled dipole array (TCDA) is proposed. A resistive frequency selective surface (FSS) is utilized to improve the bandwidth and scanning range. The average radiation efficiency of the designed antenna is above 84% for all scan cases. Furthermore, simulations show that the proposed antenna can achieve the active voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) below 3 when scanning up to ± 75° and ± 60° in the E and H planes from 2 to 18 GHz, respectively.
