Research on Deep-sea Acoustic Communication Method Based on Directional Transducer

The directivity of the transmitting transducer may affect the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the receiver, which has a great influence on the performance of the acoustic communication system. In order to study the relationship between them, the factors that affect the SNR at the receiving end are clarified, and the relationship between the transmission loss and the beam width of the transducer is simulated. Then, the deep-sea mosaic free-flooded ring transducer that has wide vertical beam and can resist high hydrostatic pressure is designed and manufactured. The directivity measurement system is set up in the anechoic tank and the vertical directivity of the transducer is measured. Finally, the OFDM underwater acoustic communication simulation is car-ried out by using the mosaic free-flooded ring transducer based on the Bellhop. The simulation results show that the wide-beam transducer improves the SNR and improves the performance of deep-sea long-range underwater acoustic communication.
