In today’s world, blockchain technology has become a cutting-edge solution for safeguarding users’ sensitive and private information. This technology serves a crucial role in various fields, including artificial intelligence, supply chain management, cloud computing, and notably, the healthcare sector. In healthcare, blockchain offers several advantages, such as confidentiality, decentralization, security, and privacy. It has a significant impact on the industry, especially with the increasing use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices that connect with healthcare systems. These devices communicate with healthcare software, bridging the gap between healthcare and information technology. The introduction of blockchain-based IoT systems has notably improved security, privacy, transparency, and overall efficiency in healthcare. This, in turn, has created better business opportunities in the industry. Traditional healthcare systems have long grappled with security and privacy issues, including challenges like phishing, identity theft, and other security breaches. To address these concerns, a secure blockchain-based application has been developed. This application acts as a bridge between the core blockchain network and application entities, including hospitals, patients, doctors, and IoT devices. Its objective is to create and verify medical certificates. In addition to this, this application ensures various security features, including maintaining confidentiality, authenticating users, and implementing access controls. It achieves this through the use of smart contracts, which are self-executing contracts with predefined rules. Through comparative and performance analysis, it becomes evident that this proposed solution offers a more effective approach compared to existing methods.
