摘要
According to WHO, around 8-13% of women of reproductive age suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome, while up to 70% of women worldwide with PCOS remain undiagnosed. In the literature long non-coding RNAs have been identified that regulate the response of androgen, estrogen and progesterone receptors, suggesting that long non-coding RNAs play a role in the hormone regulatory system in polycystic ovary syndrome. We examined 29 Genome-Wide Association Studies comprising 111 associations and a total of 100170 cases and 2088636 controls from four populations. We identified the genes for two lists of SNPs and examined the frequencies of associations and their risk alleles in world populations. Also, studying the gene expression of corresponding genes and Gene Ontology analysis were performed. The analyzed lists of associations could potentially be used as diagnostic biomarkers.
