摘要

•Phytochemical content of Onobrychis argyrea extracts was identified and quantified.•Methanol extract (ME) showed the strongest capacity for radical scavenging and metal reduction.•The enzymes α-glycosidase and butyrylcholine esterase were strongly inhibited by ME.•ME showed its most potent cytotoxic effect against HT-29 colorectal cancer cells.•ME induced caspase-dependent apoptotic cell death in HT-29 cells.
