Abstract
•The connection performance of honeycomb plate-rod composite structure based on different connection methods were compared.•The applicable finite element analysis methods of three connection methods were obtained.•The influence of the connection spacing, connector diameter and plate thickness on the composite structure was discussed.•The shear and bending bearing capacity formula of composite structure were proposed by theoretical derivation and BP algorithm.
