High-Frequency Modeling of HTS Transmission Line with Partial Element Equivalent Circuit Strategy

The voltage reflection and high-frequency oscillation for PWM converter with long transmission lines will cause insulation aging of motor windings, further shorten the operating lifecycle of the motor, and aggravate the hazards of electromagnetic interference. Characterized with nearly lossless transmission capacity and high efficiency, HTS power cable plays an important role in energy transmission for high current and long distance transmission. The partial element equivalent circuit strategy is presented to describe the characteristics of HTS power transmission cable in this paper, and the calculation and test results display that the equivalent model is featured with accurate approximation and fast convergence.
