Abstract
After the test run of a 200 m superconducting null-flux electromagnetic suspension system, where the vehicle with high temperature superconducting magnets was successfully levitated, a static platform was designed and is under construction in ChangChun, China, with the purpose of experimental studies on the vibrational dynamics of the suspended vehicles, especially the coupled roll-lateral vibrations. In the system, the same vehicle from the test line, without traveling, will be levitated by ground levitation coils. The ground copper coils are designed according to the shape of the magnetic field to simulate the electromagnetic force while the vehicle is travelling. A set of ground levitation coils is designed according to the DC components of the magnetic field, which supplies the net levitation and guidance force, and another set of ground vibration coils is used to simulate the variation of EM forces which leads to vibrations.
