Comparison of the input schemes of the hybrid-driven transmission system of the comber detaching roller

Abstract
The parameters like the motion of the detaching roller and the driving powers of the active members are important indexes to assess the performance of the hybrid-driven transmission system (HDTS) input schemes. In this study, aiming to lower the driving powers and optimize existing input schemes, the ideal motion of the detaching roller is first analyzed. Second, a dynamic model of the HDTS is developed. Third, the motions of the active members under the existing input schemes are determined, and the benefits and drawbacks of the existing input schemes are examined according to the established dynamic model. Based on this, a novel input scheme called dual servomotor inputs with bidirectional rotation for the HDTS is proposed, wherein two servomotors rotate forward and reverse, and their rotation speeds have a certain correlation. Finally, the motions of the detaching roller under different input schemes are compared through angular displacement measurement experiments, and the influence of the different input schemes on some dynamic parameters of the HDTS is analyzed after verifying the correctness of the established model using Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems software. The results show that the proposed input scheme can realize the complex motion of the detaching roller and has the lowest power requirements for motors among the compared schemes. This work can provide a theoretical foundation for the development of a new high-efficiency comber.
