Compatibility and interaction between C6F12ON2 gas mixture and sealing rubber materials

•C6F12O/N2 interacts with three types of rubber to produce gaseous by-products (C3F6, C3F7H), with FKM being the least.•C6F12O/N2 will gradually oxidize EPDM and cause the vulcanizing agent to precipitate on the surface of NBR.•C6F12O/N2 causes a significant decrease in the mechanical properties of NBR and EPDM.•C6F12O/N2 interacts more strongly with EPDM and NBR than FKM.•The diffusion of C6F12O in EPDM and NBR is greater than that of FKM.
