The article presents the results of studies of new composite materials created on the basis of microsilica (silicon dioxide) with various binders. The physical and mechanical properties of new composite materials have been determined. Due to the fact that the study of the fracture surface is an initial and very important stage on the way to elucidating the causes and chronology of the fracture process, a fractographic analysis of the fractures of the obtained samples was carried out. Fractographic analysis was carried out by the authors in order to predict the behavior of the obtained samples of new composite materials during their application (operation). It was revealed that the presence in the chemical composition of new composite materials based on hardener microsilica and polyester resin increases the strength and insulating properties of the samples. New composite materials have been developed that have proven to be an alternative to metal alloys with functional properties.
