Abstract
This article compares the usefulness of two well- known ergonomic assessment procedures, the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), in determining the ergonomic hazards associated with employees' duties. With the rising emphasis on occupational health and well-being, the selection of suitable evaluation instruments plays a vital role in avoiding musculoskeletal diseases (MSDs) and promoting workers productivity. conducting this comparative review and analysis, a comprehensive method involving the examination of past works that focused on REBA and RULA assessments was employed. These works were selected based on their relevance and rigor in evaluating the ergonomic hazards associated with different job tasks. The study critically explores the methodology, strengths, limits, and practical applications of REBA and RULA within distinct work settings. By diving into the deep variations between these techniques, the study gives significant insights for practitioners, academics, and policymakers trying to enhance ergonomic evaluations and promote a healthier and safer workplace. This paper finds that the REBA evaluation tool is adaptable across industries but requires training for accurate use, while the RULA assessment tool is simpler but may not suit complex tasks. The choice between them should consider workplace needs and limitations, like job duration and hand-arm vibration risk. A nuanced approach, combining both tools and expert opinion, is recommended for accurate ergonomic evaluations.
