An Ultrafast State-of-Health Monitoring Scheme for Li-ion Batteries Based on A Simple Electrical Model

Fast and accurate detections of state-of-health (SoH) are urgently required by various industrial sectors to facilitate reuse and recycling of Li-ion batteries. However, existing SoH identification methods rarely reconcile both monitoring speed and accuracy, which may result in plenty of electronic wastes. To address this issue, an ultrafast and accurate SoH monitoring scheme based on a least square method with forgetting factors is proposed in this paper. The proposed method is established based on a simple electrical model that can be implemented using cost-effective micro-controller units (MCUs). Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method to detect SoH of one new battery and three old batteries fast and accurately.
