Abstract
The mining industry is vital in fostering economic expansion and meeting resource requirements, constituing 10 % of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2020. Nevertheless, the mining industry is associated with significant occupational risks, resulting in a considerable number of worker fatalities each year. Inadequate communication systems within mining operations result in delays, insufficient response times, and loss of human resources. Mining accidents lead to an annual average of 12,000 fatalities, with China being identified as one of the most perilous regions. To give precedence to the safety of workers in the mining industry, it is possible to develop efficient monitoring and communication systems that use cutting-edge technologies such as LoRa communication, sensor integration, cloud analysis, and real-time alerts. The use of this system would provide prompt identification and reaction to possible risks, hence reducing the occurrence of accidents and loss of life. By implementing robust safety protocols and establishing efficient communication channels, it is possible to establish a more secure working environment that safeguards the well-being of workers and mitigates the risk of future calamities.
