Abstract
The rising demand for X-ray imaging technologies in medical radiography and nondestructive detection calls for novel scintillator materials, particularly those which are cost effective, high resolution, and have a low detection limit. Here we report investigations into the scintillating behavior of vacancy-ordered double perovskite Cs2SnCl6 fabricated via a simple co-precipitation process. By introducing Te4+ doping, an intense yellow emission was achieved upon X-ray irradiation. Combined with PDMS, flexible imaging screens with tunable size and thickness could be obtained, and demonstrated a high resolution of 20 LP mm(-1), a low detection limit of 132 nGy(air) s(-1), and high X-ray radiation endurance. Its excellent flexibility enables clear and less vignetted X-ray imaging for nonplanar subjects. The findings open a new avenue towards versatile applications for Sn-based vacancy-ordered double perovskites for other than visible and near-infrared emissions.
