Plasmonic Au@SnO2 Core-Shell Hybrid Electron Transport Layer for Highly Efficient Planar Perovskite Solar Cells

Plasmonic nanoparticles play a pivotal role in enhancing both the optical and electrical properties of photovoltaic devices. Herein, we report the incorporation of Au@SnO 2 into the SnO 2 electron transport layer (ETL), which can simultaneously improve the efficiency of the n-i-p planar perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The PSCs with 1 vOlo Au@SnO2 ETL significantly enhanced the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the PSCs from 16.23% to 18.43% due to the improvement in short-circuit current density (Jsc) and fill factor (FF). Moreover, the Au@SnO 2 -based hybrid E TL significantly reduced the nonradiative recombination losses and improved the carrier transport and extraction at the E TL/perovskite interface.
