Abstract
•Thrombin generation by factor (F) VIII and emicizumab on vascular cells was investigated.•Endothelial and smooth muscle cells support FVIII- and emicizumab-mediated thrombin generation.•Emicizumab activity is limited by an excess of FIX when phospholipids are limiting.•Anticoagulant components play an important role in controlling FVIII and emicizumab activity.
