Abstract
In this paper, a transmitter-side model predictive (MP)-based phase shift control is proposed for direct inductive power transfer (IPT) systems. The proposed control being established based on the dynamic model, exhibits faster dynamic performance than conventional proportional-integral (PI)-based phase shift control, while maintain the accurate steady-state tracking performance. The optimal phase shift angle is automatically selected by the proposed control, which results in the minimum output current deviations from the references. Both simulation and experiments validate the dynamic improvement of the proposed control.
