A Leakage Inductance Adjustment Model of Hybrid Winding Arrangement Medium Frequency Transformer

Abstract
In the isolated DC/DC converter, the leakage inductance of medium frequency transformer will affect the overall working efficiency and capacity, so the precise adjustment of medium frequency transformer (MFT) leakage inductance is very important. Under low insulation requirement which only needs the winding's scarfskin, the air insulation distance of primary and secondary windings can be ignored and a hybrid winding arrangement is proposed in this paper. Under the condition of fixed turns of primary and secondary windings, the leakage inductance can be adjusted continuously and precisely in a larger range by adjusting the turns of primary and secondary winding in each layer or the distance between winding and the upper boundary of window compared with the existing methods of leakage inductance adjustment. The accuracy of this method has been verified by experiment. The maximum error between the leakage inductance results of theoretical calculation and experiment is 10.93%.
