Static Eccentric Fault Diagnosis of IPMSM Using Thermocouple Sensor

Abstract
In the event of an eccentric fault (EF) of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), noise and vibration are generated, thereby reducing the life of the motor. From a different point of view, iron loss increases when eccentricity occurs. As a result, the temperature inside the motor increases, resulting in irreversible demagnetization fault (IDF) of permanent magnets. Therefore, in this paper, a technique for initially diagnosing EF using a thermocouple sensor is presented.
