Individual-Phase Fundamental Reactive Current Control Strategy With Suppressed Neutral-Line Current for an Active Power-Line Conditioner in Three-Phase Four-Wire Distribution Feeders

This paper deals with an individual-phase fundamental reactive current control strategy with the suppressed neutral-line current for an active power-line conditioner in three-phase four-wire distribution feeders. A new detection method is proposed for the fundamental reactive current in each phase. A novel suppression strategy for the neutral-line current with the fundamental active current redistribution is also proposed. The basic principle of the proposed individual-phase fundamental reactive current control strategy is discussed in detail. A digital computer simulation is implemented to validate the proposed individual-phase fundamental reactive current control strategy. A laboratory-scale experimental setup is built and tested. Simulation and experimental results prove that the proposed strategy attains the unbalanced and distorted source currents with the unity displacement power factor in each phase suppressing the neutral-line current.
