Abstract
Water assisted self-assembly of the Cu(II)(pyridine-3-carboxylate)2(H2O)4 coordination complex has been characterized through the X-ray crystallographic structural analysis and density functional theoretical studies. The pH dependent growth of microtubes around the crystal was observed within seven days after the formation of the parent crystal. The shape and morphology of the micro-rods obtained at difference pH values have been investigated using FESEM analysis. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy and Raman Spectroscopy have been carried out to characterize the synthesized compound.
