摘要
Our demonstration showcases the proof-of-concept for a 5G compatible underlay within 5G standalone (SA) srsRAN software with underlay transmission at the gNodeB and reception at the User Equipment (UE). We used two links between gNodeB and User Equipment, i.e., a zeroMQ link to test and evaluate the functionality of underlay in controlled channel environments and an over-the-air link using software-defined radios to demonstrate the underlay 5G coexistence. Our demonstration shows that low-data rate resilient communication is possible through an underlay concurrent with other 5G NR channels (specifically, the PDSCH) without disrupting their transmissions. The proposed approach can be implemented by customizing the baseband processing at the gNodeB and the UE with very minimal modifications.
