A FPGA-based high efficiency and low-power system for blood pressure measurement

摘要
In this work, a high efficiency and low-power system for blood pressure(BP) measurement has been designed. The system integrates the algorithm of BP calculation using hardware description language. Therefore, there is no need to keep flash to store the program any more, nor is the MCU core. As a result, the core size could be very small. To realize the goal of ultra-low power, we adopt clock gating technique and an unconventional ADC for the sampling and converting of the pressure signal. The system is implemented with a Xilinx board and tested among 300 peoples. The results show that the mean absolute error of both systolic and diastolic blood pressure is less than 3mmHg.
