摘要

•The first attempt to isolate microbes from Hungarian BR.•Nine bacterial and three fungal isolates were identified and characterised.•Siderophore and EPS-producing and P-mobilising strains were found.•Strains were found to be tolerating high pH (pH 9–10) and salt content (5–15 %).•BR-derived extremophilic strains have potential in biotechnological applications.
