Abstract
Key elements to our journal's mission to constantly improve its content, impact and reach, are the exercise of looking back at last year's successes, and the recognition of areas of opportunity to better serve our global scientific community. In 2023, we received over 1200 manuscripts from 6 continents with an acceptance rate of 23 %. The 5 countries with the most submissions were: China, United States, India, Italy and Japan. We were most popular (in terms of downloads) in: United States, United Kingdom, China, Italy and Australia. Based on our journal impact factor, we are once again amongst the Top 3 specialty journals in movement disorders. Our median time to manuscript acceptance or rejection continues to shorten, with first editorial decisions now down to less than 1 week! Parkinsonism and Related Disorders is amongst elite journals setting the record for the shortest time from acceptance to publication. What led to our successes? I could summarize them in 3 themes.
