Active Disturbance Rejection Control Combined with Current-Stress-Optimization for Dual Active Bridge DC-DC Converter

Due to irregular load switching, the bus voltage fluctuations in dual active bridge (DAB) converter are generated. In this work, active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) based dual-phase-shift (DPS) modulation strategy is proposed to improve the dynamic response of DAB converter and relive the current stress of the converter. Firstly, under the DPS modulation strategy, the transmission power and current stress are analyzed. The minimum current stress under each working condition and the corresponding shift combination is obtained. Then, an extended state observer (ESO) is established, and the transmission power change caused by the sudden load change and DC bus voltage are regarded as the total disturbance. In this paper, an ADRC combined with current stress optimization control is proposed, which has better operating characteristics than traditional proportion integration (PI). At last, the superiority of the control strategy is verified by experiments.
