A Current Reconstruction Method of Odd-phase High-speed Fault-tolerant Permanent Magnet Motor for Aviation

Aiming at the single-phase fault of high-speed multi-phase fault-tolerant permanent magnet motor (FTPMM) for aviation, this paper establishes a multi-phase current reconstruction method for FTPMM. For multiphase motors with certain odd or prime numbers of phases, this paper deduces a mathematical expression for reconstructing circular composite magnetomotive force in detail after a single-phase fault of multiphase motors and establishes a general formula for solving the reconstructed current after the fault. Through this method, the expressions of each phase current can be obtained quickly when the phase is out of operation, and the circular rotating magnetomotive force of the multiphase permanent magnet synchronous motor can be reconstructed, which ensures the stability of the average values of torque, frequency, and speed of FTPMM when it is in fault operation. In addition, based on this method, this paper simulates and verifies the single-phase fault operation of an odd-phase motor, which proves the correctness of this method.
