Topology Reconstruction Control of IGBT Open-Switch Fault for Dual PMSMs Drive System

Existing fault-tolerant control (FTC) schemes can only be performed on the premise of knowing the location of fault. However, the inherent fault detection delay will further deteriorate transient performance. This paper re-examines the relation between fault diagnosis (FD) and FTC, and proposes a topology reconstruction control (TRC) strategy for single open-switch fault of dual-motor drive system. Both FD and FTC are taken into account. The traditional FD algorithm is simplified, and a fast and reliable topology reconstruction process can be realized only by adjusting the switching states.
