Abstract
This paper studies the CMRP developed long base bulk p-i-n diode of different topologies as a displacement damage dose (DDD) sensor for high energy heavy ion fields typical of the galatic cosmic ray (GCR) radiation environment. The investigation attempts to demonstrate that the developed p-i-n diodes response is independent of incident heavy ion type and remains in agreement with the theoretically predicted DDD for various energies. Such sensors will be useful for space missions to predict damage of solar cells and other electronics and implement mitigation measures in time.
