摘要
With the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) in the medical sector, the field of allergy and immunology has welcomed innovation with landmark studies in the past few years that have set the framework for the future. Initial implementation and studies of AI have shown promise for improving patient diagnosis, aiding clinical decision support, and integrating omic-data for efficient analyses. Areas of focus within the field include primary immunodeficiency, asthma, drug allergies, contact dermatitis, and COVID-19. Implementation of AI using electronic health record data has largely proven to be a big target in these areas of focus. Ongoing efforts for operationalizing AI systems will play a large part in helping drive healthcare outcomes for patients with allergic and immunologic diseases.
