Statistical anyons

摘要
In general, the term anyons is applied to describe quasiparticles that display behavior that falls on a continuum between that of bosons and fermions. Two primary constructions of anyons exist: generalized exclusion statistics (GES), which extends the Pauli exclusion principle to allow a continuum of state occupancy, and fractional exchange statistics (FES), which generalizes the phase picked up by the wave function under particle exchange. In this chapter, we outline an alternative framework for simulating anyonic behavior called statistical anyons. Under this framework, anyonic features emerge from the average behavior of a statistical mixture of bosons and fermions. We demonstrate that statistical anyons are equivalent to GES anyons and can replicate the thermodynamic behavior of FES anyons.
