Molecular testing in inherited cardiomyopathies

Inherited cardiomyopathies are a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by the disruption of normal structure and/or function of the myocardium. This chapter will review the clinical features of the major inherited germline cardiomyopathies, outline the molecular mechanisms of disease associated with each disorder, and explore the clinical utility and limitations of the current genetic testing modalities.
