A mechanistic view of the role of thyroid cancer stem cells in microenvironment

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting nearly 10 million deaths in 2020. Cancer stem cells play a crucial role in treating various cancers as a therapeutic target. Various cancer stem cell models were studied and provide data for its efficacy on specific cancers. Regenerative medicine is an emerging field of medicine for developing innovative methods to regrow or repair damaged tissues or cells. Various cancer stem cell models were carried out to treat different types of thyroid cancer, but the exact mechanism of action needs to be elucidated. In this chapter, we focus on therapeutic strategy of the cancer stem cells for thyroid cancer.
