Abstract
Military triage systems are a series of attempts to incorporate methodologies to rapidly evaluate and select patients for treatments and evacuation. Their origins lie in the military, which has had to sort out multiple casualties rapidly to improve survival and outcomes and to establish a hierarchy for evacuation of the wounded. These systems have now been extrapolated for civilian use in mass casualty incidents
