Abstract
Fully Implantable and Retrievable Upconversion Waveguides for Photodynamic Therapy in Deep Tissue Effective photodynamic therapy (PDT) is limited by the low penetration of visible light in biological tissues. In article number 2300689, Xing Sheng, He Ding, and colleagues develop fully implantable, wirelessly powered upconversion waveguides as in vivo light sources for PDT to treat tumors in the deep tissue of mice. This implant efficiently and precisely delivers photons into the deep tissue by IR-to-visible upconversion and could be retrieved after treatments.
